Turbine blade blending is the process of removing and polishing damaged areas from effected components. This service helps to mitigate further damage and could extend the life of a component before replacement becomes necessary. From nicks to cracks to severe impact damage and beyond, Advanced Turbine Support has the experience, expertise and equipment necessary to meet all your blending needs.

Advanced Turbine Support technicians perform and wide variety of component and turbine blade blending. From fully exposed components to in-situ locations (no unit disassembly) our blends will meet or exceed OEM standards.

We have developed proprietary equipment and techniques that allow us to perform in-situ blend removal of cracks and impact damage on the first 7 to 11 stages of most compressors rotor blades and stator vanes.  Additionally, we are the only company that provides in-situ blending and or shim removal from the GE 7FA compressor stage S0-S4 and 7EA S1-S4 stator vanes.

Prior to blade blending, damaged areas are fully mapped. Completed blends are measured and further subjected to a Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) to confirm all damage has been removed.

Proper borescope inspections, avail an opportunity to effectively plan for upcoming or emergent outages by documenting the overall condition of a unit.
